Typical Signs

Your child may benefit from occupational therapy services if he/she:

  • struggles to complete everyday activities such as dressing
  • has difficulty learning to do new activities that require motor coordination
  • frequently bumps into objects or people
  • seems weaker than peers
  • resists new challenges saying “I can’t” without attempting
  • avoids manipulative activities such as construction toys, puzzles, coloring
  • has difficulty controlling movement and uses too little or too much power/force
  • may be described as clumsy or awkward
