Capable Kids offers programs that are designed to bring enjoyment and interest to learning to write.

FINGER FUN 4 1/2 year olds

The focus of this class is to provide fun, interesting fine motor activities for children developing the foundation skills necessary for functional handwriting and tool use. Skills addressed include hand strength, fine motor manipulation skills, grasp refinement, stroke development and pre-handwriting skills.

In this class, children participate in activities designed to facilitate hand development in preparation for writing. Sessions begin with activities that focus on improving stability and strength in the body. These are followed by games to facilitate refined hand development and control. The session finishes up with a simple craft and some writing to incorporate the newly emerging motor skills into familiar classroom tasks.
